Asem Abdelfattah graduated with a masters degree in Economics from Troy University where
he was sponsored by the Manuel Johnson Center for Political Economy and served as a
graduate research and teaching assistant. Throughout his academic training, Asem developed research interests in Islamic Finance, Higher Education, Philanthropy, Collective Action, and Political Economy. Asem hopes to bring original ideas and research from those fields to build
Islamic Institutions that are beneficial and sustainable for the American Muslim community and
for the Islamic Ummah at large.
