Dr. Qazi Yasir Arafat is a scholar of Islamic finance with over two decades of experience spanning corporate, academic, and research roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Banking and Finance from the International Islamic University Islamabad, with a dissertation focusing on earnings management in Islamic banking through the lens of Shariah. He also earned an MS in Management Science (Finance) and multiple degrees in Economics and Commerce from Pakistani universities.
Currently serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Nur Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance and assistant professor of Islamic banking & Finance at Nur School of Islamic and Contemporary Learning, Dr. Arafat is actively involved in advancing Islamic financial education and research. His research interests include corporate governance, earnings management, Islamic banking stability, and Shariah-compliant financial instruments. He has published extensively in HEC-recognized journals and presented at several national and international conferences.
Dr. Arafat has also worked with institutions like Natover Lease & Refinance Ltd. and served as visiting faculty at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and International Islamic University Islamabad. He teaches Islamic and conventional finance to undergraduate and graduate levels students.
