Irshad Rasheed is the President of Stearns Salaam Banking, the Shariah-aligned banking division of Stearns Bank, a community banking institution with more than a century of heritage. He founded the Salaam division, establishing one of the few bank-native Shariah-compliant banking offerings in the United States. Under his leadership, Stearns Salaam has become the nation's premier bank-backed gateway to Shariah-compliant financial services, serving Muslim families, businesses, and institutions across North America.
Irshad also serves as a Founding President and Board Member of the Islamic Financial Trade Association of North America (IFTANA). It is the nation's first industry-wide 501(c)(6) trade association dedicated to supporting and advancing Islamic and ethical finance through policy advocacy, Shariah compliance and standardization, incubational support, research and publications, networking and conferences, and international collaboration.
Throughout his career, Irshad has consistently identified emerging opportunities and built scalable, purpose-led organizations around them. His experience spans entrepreneurship, product development, and executive leadership across financial services and related sectors. He combines innovation with practical implementation and has successfully launched and expanded ventures by building teams, developing solutions, and creating organizations from the ground up, with purpose-driven values at their core.
He has three sons, all of whom have left home to pursue their dreams. He is an active hiker, diver, and occasional climber. He is also an avid gardener and a backyard apiarist (beekeeper).
