The global finance industry continues to evolve, creating demand for professionals trained in Islamic economics and finance principles. This program prepares graduates to apply ethical finance frameworks that emphasize transparency, sustainability, and social responsibility in contemporary financial systems.
Program Overview
The Master’s in Islamic Economics & Finance program encompasses two different components. Successful completion of the two components (total of 36 credit hours) courses and the Graduation Capstone entitles the candidate to earn a Master’s Degree in Islamic Economics & Finance.
The Graduation Capstone allows for four options: Exam, Professional Paper, Thesis, or Internship. The thesis option is designed for those students wishing to pursue a PhD in Islamic Finance.

- Exhibit basic and functional knowledge of Islamic finance principles, Islamic economics, Islamic financial institutions, Islamic banking, Islamic accounting, risk management, portfolio management and corporate finance.
- Exhibit their expertise in Islamic finance, by conducting research of publishable quality in any area of Islamic finance or economics or by writing a professional paper or internship report.
- Engage in a managerial position in an Islamic financial institution or employment in an Islamic finance related area.
- Contribute to the Islamic community as a professional in sharia economics and finance.
- Advance to additional graduate or doctoral studies.
