Momin Saeed
Momin Saeed is the Head of Abrahamic Finance, an Islamic finance advisory serving clients in Canada and internationally, and serves as the Canadian Country Correspondent for Islamic Finance news, reporting on the development of Canada's Islamic finance market to a global readership. Through Abrahamic Finance, he also plays a strategic advisory role in various capacities for tech startups. He holds the Certified Shariah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA) designation from AAOIFI in Bahrain and the Chartered Islamic Finance Professional (CIFP) designation from INCEIF University in Malaysia, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals (CIIF). He has delivered keynote addresses internationally and contributed to published work in the field.
Alongside his advisory practice, Momin brings nearly two decades of experience in Canadian commercial real estate as an investor and developer - coming from a family of urban planning and architecture. As Founder and President of NŪR Real Estate Group in Alberta, he is working on partnership structures that would enable investors to own commercial real estate — multifamily, industrial, and self-storage assets — in a Shariah-powered, equity-based manner, replacing interest-bearing debt with genuine risk-sharing ownership. He is also a licensed Alberta Commercial Real Estate professional.
Momin holds an MBA from the Smith School of Business at Queen's University and a B.Com in Accounting from the University of Alberta. He previously served as the first Executive Director of the Alberta Muslim Public Affairs Council, now under the National Council of Canadian Muslims, the leading Muslim advocacy group in Canada.
