Mufti Abdullah Masum
Mufti Abdullah Masum is an experienced professional in Islamic finance with over 15 years of experience in shariah advisory, consultancy, giving fatwa, and training. He holds a CSAA from AAOIFI, an MSc in Islamic studies from Jami’ah Shariyyah Malibag Dhaka, and a Mufti degree (which was 5 years long equibalanced PhD) in Islamic jurisprudence including Fiqh-Al-Mumalat.
Mufti Abdullah is a Senior Deputy Mufti at the Department of Fiqh & Islamic Laws of Jami’ah Shariyyah Malibag, Dhaka. He is also a member of several Shariah committees, including an Islamic asset management fund, Islamic Takaful, Islamic banking, etc.
To spread the teaching, research, and Sharia consultancy on Islamic Finance He founded IFA Consultancy Ltd. in Bangladesh. Currently, this institution is an education, training, and exam partner of AAOIFI in Bangladesh.
Mufti Abdullah is an expert instructor/trainer on Islamic finance, providing innumerable sessions on Islamic finance at the central bank, various corporate institutions, universities, and madrasas.
He is passionate about promoting and innovating Islamic finance through research writing and teaching. He has written more than 8 books on various topics of Islamic finance in Bagnoli, one of them in English with Pr. Kabir Hasan, USA.
Mufti Abdullah has presented many papers at local and international Islamic finance conferences. He also published many articles in journals. Besides, he has published several articles in Bangladeshi daily newspaper with Professor Kabir Hasan. His writings were able to influence even the central bank and regulators of Bangladesh.
Mufti Abdullah is the recipient of the BAFF (Bangladesh AAOIFI Fallows Forum) 2024 Award for contributing to Bangladesh's Islamic finance industry. He has presented a paper in the First Annual North American Conference on Islamic Finance (NACIF)-2023 and received a valuable certificate from NACIF.
