Dr. Muhammad Kabir Hassan's
Welcome Message
Message from the Conference Chair
Welcome to the third North American Conference on Islamic Finance (NACIF) in 2025! As the Chair of the conference, I extend a warm welcome on behalf of NACIF’s Executive and Organizing Committees and the Board of Trustees of Guidance College, Texas, United States.
This year's conference theme, "Social Impact of Islamic Finance," underscores the immense potential for education on social impact of Islamic finance. With over five million Muslims residing in the United States, there exists a need for education on this topic. We welcome the Muslim Philanthropy Initiative to help us engage in productive conversations on this important topic.
Guidance College, having dedicated the past decade to imparting quality religious and Islamic finance education, has been instrumental in fostering social and economic uplift within the Muslim community. NACIF represents yet another bold initiative by the College to provide a platform for scholars, academics, and practitioners to discuss untapped opportunities in the North American market for Islamic financial products and services.
As I convene at this conference, my aim to share thoughts and exchange ideas on advancing our journey towards greater heights in promoting Islamic finance education and outreach in the region. Beyond that, NACIF serves as a networking hub, connecting North American Islamic finance scholars and practitioners with the global community and fostering collaboration for a more developed Islamic finance industry in the region.
This conference is an opportunity to reflect on past achievements, renew friendships, expand networks, and collectively explore current and future research directions. I express my gratitude to the sponsoring organizations for their generous financial support and extend my thanks to all conference participants whose contributions form the foundation of this unique event.
I eagerly anticipate meeting you at the conference in October 2025.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kabir Hassan
