Br. Souhayl Maronesy,

Souhayl Maronesy holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from SDSU and a master's degree in Computer Science from UIUC. He has amassed experience at renowned tech companies such as Ericsson and Plaid and is currently a Software Engineer at ResMed. Alongside his professional career, Souhayl has pursued an extensive education in traditional Islamic sciences, a curriculum that has been taught in the Kurdistan regions of Iraq for centuries. He is officially authorized to teach various Islamic disciplines, including tafsir, hadith, fiqh, spirituality, Islamic theology and philosophy, Islamic legal theory, and logic. Driven by his diverse educational background, he aims to blend the rich traditions of Islamic intellectual heritage with contemporary sciences to foster the development of a sustainable and thriving Islamic civilization. In pursuit of this mission, he has founded Alkalām, a non-profit educational and research institution dedicated to advancing Islamic education and scholarship, and Bunyān, a for-profit Islamic fintech company focused on developing financial solutions that adhere to Islamic principles.
