Hakeem J. Webb, MSFS, CTP
Hakeem J. Webb is a Muslim-American fintech entrepreneur and business trailblazer with over three decades of financial services experience. He is the Founder & CEO of NCFA, Inc. This leading minority-owned and operated national independent registered full-service fee-only wealth management and investment advisory firm serves a global client base of diverse investors. Along with the only full-service fee-only digital gateway platform called Cyborg-Advisors, which aims to "Democratize Wall Street.”
He returned to the financial services industry in late 2014 to disrupt the commission-based industry by offering fee-only products and services. Although he managed his practice from an Abrahamic faith-based perspective, for the past three years, he has emphasized more Islamic Sharia-compliant standards, funds, planning, wealth management, and advisory services with the hopes InShaAllah, by the will and permission of Allah to advance Islamic Finance as an alternative to the current Western Capitalism that runs global financial markets now.
He is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), the leading credential in treasury and finance worldwide. He is enrolled at the International Open University, studying Islamic Economics, Banking, and Finance. He holds a master’s in financial services from The Institute of Business & Finance. He did his undergrad studies in economics and finance at Virginia State University, one of the nation's leading Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Hakeem J. Webb was one of the first Black Americans to put an independent wealth management office on Wall Street; this was monumental and very special to him because, during High School, he sought a junior internship from a leading Wall Street investment bank and he was denied because of his race as a Black America and not because he lacked the skills or academic achievement. His late mother told him not to let this make him bitter; let it motivate and make you better.
He has overseen and navigated a merger of a national Registered Investment Advisory firm (RIA) with forty-seven investment advisory representatives (IAR). He restructured that firm, downsizing the IARs and expanding the offices and satellite offices around the country, which tripled the firm's revenues in twenty-four months. During the height of his career, he managed over a quarter billion in assets.
He was the former Economic Chair for the N.A.A.C.P. State of Connecticut and a former Loan officer for the City of Waterbury Loan Committee. Along with a group of financial professionals, he helped develop and grow many faith-based funds and faith-based planning and wealth management.
